My name is Selina Whiting and I am a personal trainer with the knowledge and
drive to help you reach your fitness and lifestyle goals.  Having overcome
excess weight and an unhealthy lifestyle myself, I have the desire and motivation to
help others achieve their own goals.

 Weight had always been a struggle with me since I was a teenager.  At the age
of 19, I weighed in at 215 pounds.  I spent years yo-yoing up and down in weight
trying diet after diet, video after video, looking for that quick fix.  Finally,
the answer came in a small package under the Christmas tree in 2008.….2.5 hours
of personal training with a trainer at my local gym.  I unfortunately thought
this would be another failed attempt.  Quickly after my first meeting, I
realized what I had been missing.  Strength.  Squats, push-ups, and even simply
getting up off the floor were unbearably hard.  I spent the next 6 months
working very closely with my trainer who pushed me to my limits.  In just a few
short months, I had dropped 20 pounds, 6% body fat, and could now do 15 push ups
from my toes as well as 2 pull ups.  This motivated me to continue with my
healthy new lifestyle.  Now 2 years later, I am stronger and healthier than ever
before.

 I have been working with children for the last 14 years.  I have my
degree in Early Childhood Education through St. Joseph’s College of Early
Childhood Education.  Fitness has sparked a new passion in me.  I have completed
my Certified Fitness Trainer’s course through ISSA, International Sports
Sciences Association
, and am dedicating my time to helping people improve
their quality of life through functional strength training.  I believe in
pushing yourself to your limits, living life to the fullest and is always 
 striving to be …
