I am a firm believer that everything is good for you.....in moderation of course. YES, that slice of chocolate cake was alright to eat last Friday night! The key to treats is MODERATION. What is moderation? According to Wikipedia "Moderation is a way of life emphasizing perfect amounts of everything, not indulging in too much of one thing" That sounds good to me! Does that mean that I can eat cake every day as long as it is a small piece? No. It just means that you don't have to eliminate it from you diet completely. Try to induldge in treats only once a week. Pick a delicious something in the beginning of the week to 'treat' yourself with. Now, the trick is to eat healthy all week, exercise daily and drink lots of water daily. If all this is done, 'treat' yourself! One treat a week will not destroy you or your hard work. Now that's good news!
I found this picture and thought it was a great place to start learning portion control. Did you know, apples can make you fat? It's true, if you eat too much of anything, it can be bad for you.
