I am a firm believer that everything is good for you.....in moderation of course. YES, that slice of chocolate cake was alright to eat last Friday night! The key to treats is MODERATION. What is moderation? According to Wikipedia "Moderation is a way of life emphasizing perfect amounts of everything, not indulging in too much of one thing" That sounds good to me! Does that mean that I can eat cake every day as long as it is a small piece? No. It just means that you don't have to eliminate it from you diet completely. Try to induldge in treats only once a week. Pick a delicious something in the beginning of the week to 'treat' yourself with. Now, the trick is to eat healthy all week, exercise daily and drink lots of water daily. If all this is done, 'treat' yourself! One treat a week will not destroy you or your hard work. Now that's good news!
I found this picture and thought it was a great place to start learning portion control. Did you know, apples can make you fat? It's true, if you eat too much of anything, it can be bad for you. The key to staying healthy is PORTION CONTROL!! I hope this helps. Let me know what you think.

I found this on the internet yesterday and thought it was very interesting. A small insight into how much sugar is in the foods and drinks we consume daily. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think...
~I VOW TO~
* Remember that the sun will still rise again tomorrow even if I had too many slices of pizza or an extra scoop of ice-cream tonight.
*Never blame my body for the bad day I am having.
*Stop joining in when my friends compare and bash their own bodies.
*Never allow a dirty look from someone else to influence how I feel about my appearence.
*Quit judging a person solely by how his or her body looks - no matter how harmless - because I would never want anyone to do that to me.
*Notice all the amazing things my body does for me every moment I walk, talk, think and breath.
*Quiet that negative voice in my head when it starts to say mean things about my body that I would never tolerate anyone else saying about me.
*Remind myself that what you see isn't always what you get on TV and in ADS - it takes a lot of airbrushing, dieting, money, and work to look like that.
*Remember that even the girl that I'd swap bodies with in a minute has something about her looks that she hates.
*Respect my body by feeding it well, working up a sweat when it needs it, and knowing when to give it a break
*Realize that the mirror can only reflect what is on the surface of me, not what is on the inside.
*Know that I am always beautiful just the way I am!
Do you want to feel the wind in your hair? Do you want a change of scenery? Do you just want to run?
If you have never run before, just the thought can be scary. I was putting together some hints and tips to share with you about how to start running when I found this picture. It has everything a begginer needs to know.
Start small. Don't attemp to run a full marathon on your first day. Go out in the fresh air and run the distance of 1 lamppost then walk for 5 lampposts (or rest posts). Next time you go out, run for 2 lampposts and walk for 5. Continue on until you can comfortably run 5 lampposts. From here, start to take out a rest post. Run for 6 lampposts, walk for 4. Continue to add an extra lamppost in and take away one rest post at a time until you can run 10 straight lampposts. Now, every time you go, add more posts. Before you know it, you will be running 5km straight!
For an added challenge, try running up hills, sprint as fast as you can to the next post or wear a backpack with a few pounds in it. Now get out there and RUN!
Are eggs healthy for you?
This question has been around for centuries, and it seems to me, the answer changes almost every year!
So what is the right answer?
YES, EGGS ARE IN FACT GOOD FOR YOU!
1 large egg has only 70 calories, 6 grams of protein, 14 essential nutrients and naturally contains Vitamin D! The cholesterol in an egg is in fact 18% lower than originally thought.
Which is better, brown eggs or white eggs?
The shell color of an egg has no effect on the taste, it has to do with the hen who laid it! The color of the yolk has to do with what type of feed was fed to the hen and what breed of hen it is. In real life, different breeds of hens, have yolks varying in color.
Are the yolks healthy?
Yes, eating one or two whole eggs a day will not make your cholesterol sky rocket. 43% of an eggs protein is found in the yolk! Yolks are chalked full of vitamins, minerals, protein and fat. All of which should be made part of a healthy diet.
So get crackin' and eat an egg today!
